This is one of our new devices that we have been using at the Active Physical Therapy clinic to look at tissue temperature. We take the tissue temperature surrounding the injured joint, (e.g. ankle, knee) and we compare the patient’s right side to their left side. If there is a difference between the two joints this could be due to inflammation in the joint. Dr. Spevak and Dr. Anderson attended a conference recently where the orthopedic surgeon of the Chicago Bulls discussed how he uses this tool to measure his athletes.
